September 20 - 24th

ENG1P: This class has worked on two short stories so far. The class is able to identify the introduction, rising action, conflicts, climax, falling action and conclusion of a story. They can also tell me about the setting and the character(s) with detail. Next week we will look at how to make our own stories; that will mean a follow up on use of adjectives in a story, describing a person/location and some group work on a story summary. We continue to have a busy September in English.
ENG1D: This class will also being doing group work, but will have to identify the type and genre of a story of the group's creation, as well as the work mentioned above.

HFN2O: This class has prepared themselves for their first food lab on Friday Sept, 17th. Six groups of four will make four different types of muffins in this lab. This will required them to take the safety instructions, recipe reading and measuring learning and apply it to their creations. Next week we will come out of the kitchen to the library to look at cook books; their function and usefulness to a newcomer to the cooking scene. We will end the week back in the kitchen to prep for our second food lab of bisquits - all part of the quick bread family.
