Week of September 19th

ENG1P: This class is working towards creating their own personal narrative. We examined how to develop a character, decide on a point of view, how to move the plot along and finally where our story will take place. At the same time the class will be finishing their look at short stories via the textbook. At the end of this week, the class will hand in FOUR stories they have identified the Plot, Characters, Setting, Point of View and Theme, 3 Literary terms and idenification of the plot structure. There are 96 marks to be had with this assignment and they will be given time this week to finish it up. The personal narrative is not due until the end of next week.

CHC2P: This class is looking at the ending of the war, the effect it had on Canada and Canadians and specific groups. We will have a look at the role of women, unions and war veterans and how these people affected change in our nation. The class will learn about the Treaty of Versailles and some of the details that Germany had to agree to and we will keep these things in mind as we move forward as that agreement led to WWII.

ENG2P: This class is having a look at some essays within the textbook. The class will be reading for knowledge of the subject, answering questions from the text and being able to identify reasons for the essay being written. The class will also be having a look and listen at some other speeches that have been delivered in the past in an effort to prepare them for their own speech. The speeches will begin Sept. 27th and should last two full days.
